University of California System

The University of California system is one of the most recognized systems of higher education in the United States. The ten campuses of the University of California provide exciting environments that foster world-class educational and research opportunities and generate a wide range of benefits and services that touch the lives of Californians throughout the state. The UC family includes more than 220,000 students, more than 170,000 faculty and staff, 37,000 retirees and more than 1.5 million living alumni. Its academic offerings span 150 disciplines, with more departments ranked in the top 10 nationally than any other public or private university. The rewards of a UC education extend beyond the University’s classrooms. See http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/beyond_camp.html

Eligible high school seniors must apply online during the month of November. Due to the outstanding and affordable education that the UC system provides for its students, the admissions process at each campus is very competitive.
