Dear parents, guardians, and students,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Belmont High School. My name is Jose
Umana and I am looking forward to a productive 2016-2017 school year for
all students. It is my primary responsibility that all students reach their
highest potential.
I am aware that it takes the support of many people such as parents,
guardians, school administrators, school faculty and staff, and the students
themselves to make students become better citizens in our communities. In
order for this to happen, all of us at Belmont High School need students to
model integrity and promote lifelong learning in academics and sports. As a
teacher and coach, I believe all students can learn to think critically and
challenge themselves to LAUSD’s rigorous academic standards.
I am asking that we help our students become successful. To begin, please
encourage your sons and daughters to attend school daily and on time ready
to learn. Every student needs to complete all class and homework
assignments. I will give your child a syllabus, which will also be posted
online. This will give clear expectations to all students.
If you have any questions about the rules and expectations, please feel free to
contact me at school. My room is 305 and I am open to any concerns you
may have.
Sincerely,
Jose Umana
